Upgrade for budding hotel professionals: Multi-brand training at Accor Hotels
Munich / Hamburg, May 31, 2017 -
Training 2.0: On August 1, 2017, Accor Hotels started its new multi-brand training in Hamburg and Munich. Instead of learning classically in just one hotel, the hotel management trainees “rotate”: within the three planned apprenticeship years, the junior staff stay in one of the training companies from two to five star hotels for one year.
Accor Hotels will also use its brand diversity in a targeted manner in the future. The new offer complements the existing classic hotel business, but prepares young professionals for everyday life in various hotel segments. The content of the apprenticeship is clearly defined, the multi-brand training also uses the different environment (work processes, departments, teams and guest structure) of the individual hotels. "In this way, the young employees benefit from the strengths of the brand portfolio and thus have an even better basis for starting their careers," says Tina Härtig, responsible for training management at Accor Hotels. "It's easier for you to decide which type of hotel best suits your personality."
Multi-brand training is an innovative component of Accor Hotels' future-oriented employer strategy with the aim of training young people even better and showing further opportunities within the group.
The multi-brand training project was preceded by very detailed planning: Human Resources has developed with various interest groups such as trainers, trainees, hotel directors from all three segments, urban vocational schools, the Society for Training Research and Professional Development as well as the responsible chambers of industry and commerce up to General Works Council of Accor Hotels worked together.
The first trainees start in Hamburg at the Sofitel Hamburg Alter Wall, the Novotel Hamburg City Alster and the Ibis Hamburg Alsterring. There are three more places in Munich for the Sofitel Munich Bayerpost, the Mercure Hotel City Center and the Ibis München City West. Apprenticeships are still available.
